Why would some want to be a debt collector is beyond me. The pay is terrible and there are just too many other options available when a person has the right skills and/or education. Truthfully speaking, when a person hires on as a debt collector, they have reached the bottom of the barrel. The good news is; there’s nowhere else to go but up! Before I share some of the latest want ads for debt collectors, take a look at this important survey and then read some of the debt collector’s mantras.

The majority of wants ads for debt collectors, (and there are a heck of a lot of them) pretty much target people with a high school education or equivalent and most require little or no experience. The pay, as you’re going to learn - is peanuts, with some companies offering as little as $7.50 per hour. Our survey team found out that the average debt collector:

(a) Makes around $26,500 annually
(b) Usually took the debt collector job as a last resort
(c) Didn’t graduate from college
(d) Views their job as a temporary situation
(e) Has few to no other marketable skills
(f) Doesn’t collect debts for long
(g) Loathes their job after around 300 or so phone call

Analyzes delinquency reports; plans and negotiates collections sequence with debtors. Will make 150 to 250 calls per day to notify debtors of delinquent status. Follows up to make sure payments are received. Documents all actions. Coordinates with the legal dept. when legal action is necessary.

Minimum Requirements:
High School education or equivalent
Pass drug test
Pass criminal background check
No Exp Necessary, we train!

Status: Full-time
Shift: Days, nights and weekends
